W.I.P Wednesday!

This has been a pretty busy month.  It started with beautiful weather in the 80's.  I spent a lot of time outside working in the yard, planting a few things in the garden and went horseback riding several times.  It was so much fun.  We even saw some bear tracks!

Since the beginning didn't include my sewing machine, the end of the month did.  I put the binding on my #ALYoF goal (as you saw in my last post), played catch up with Bee blocks as well as getting caught up with some of my QAL blocks.

I joined the Forest QAL a few months ago but got behind.  The blocks are paper pieced, are more advanced and quite time consuming-but I love them!!  I can't wait to put them all together.  You can find the group over on Flickr by clicking on the button on my side bar.

I think I have 3 more and I'll be all caught up :)  I also finished my blocks for the "Sisters 10 Modern QAL".  I just love these and can't wait to get them all put together.  I'm loving the Essex linen more with each block!

*edit*  I had planned on linking up to WIP Wednesday @ Freshly Pieced but it won't work.  Anyone else having trouble?

Finally Finished!

Originally this was my April goal for #ALYoF.  I was sooooo close but just couldn't get it done in time to link up.  So onto May's goal it went.

As you can see by the wrinkles, it has already been used during T.V time :)  And it is so hard to take a good photo of the whole quilt!  Sorry about that!!

I do love how it turned out though.  I hand quilted the whole thing with DMC floss in brown to match the embroidered words in each block. I also used a brown solid for the binding so the hand stitches really stand out.

My Quilt Entry...

AmysCreativeSide.com

As many of you know, it's time for the Bloggers Quilt Festival.  I've always just admired everyones entries and voted for my favorites but this time I've decided to enter one of my own. I chose my Soccer Quilt to be entered in the 2-color quilt category.

This is one of my favorites!  You could go in so many directions with this pattern. So many possibilities :)  The original tutorial called for larger squares but I went with the smaller 2 1/2" square.  Perfect for charm squares!

Please head over to the festival to check out all the entries.  So many beautiful quilts!!  And voting starts tomorrow so pick your favorite :)
