2 Nominations for the Liebster Award

Well thank you very much ladies!!  Amy of cloudcoucoucrafts and Jessica of abushelandapeck  surprised me with the nominations. I really appreciate it :)  And what is a Liebster Award?  Don't feel bad--I didn't know either.  After some google searching I found that it means "dearest" in German.  Made to help new bloggers with under 200 followers get some more traffic to their site. I always wondered if anyone read my blog!

Rules are the following:
  • Post eleven facts about yourself.
  • Answer the questions the nominee has set for you and create eleven questions for people   you’ve nominated.
  • Choose eleven people (with fewer than 200 followers) to give this award to and link them in your post.
  • Go to their page and let them know.
  • No tag backs!

The Forest Quilt Along

Ever since I took a class on paper piecing over 12 years ago, I've been hooked.  A couple posts ago you saw my blocks from pattern testing and my photos of the Dancing Stars QAL.  Which, by the way, I'm up to 65!!

I also joined the Forest QAL that started last month.  Blocks are more advanced and challenging but I love them!  If you want to know more or would like to join in you can click on the button in my side bar or go here to the Flickr group and all the patterns. There are so many pretty blocks with a lot of different color combos.  Here are my blocks so far:
block #1 woodpecker
block #2 feathers
block #3 aspen grove
block #4 red fox

Take Time To...

Make that April goal for A Lovely Year of Finishes and link it up!  I chose my "Take Time To..." BOM top to quilt and bind.

This was a cute little embroidery BOM from 2010 by Caroline Lewis of The Contented Quilter.  You can find them here.  And since I still have my hand quilting mojo, I might be adding some to this quilt too.  There is lots of blank white space betweeen blocks that will need it :)
Here are some of the blocks up close:

I love how the top turned out and can't wait to finish it!! Linking up here to the goal setting party for A lovely Year of Finishes and The Get Aquainted party !!
